# Installation

ReviewScribe can be installed directly from the WordPress.org plugin directory or manually using a ZIP file. Follow the method that best suits your WordPress website.

## 2.1 Install ReviewScribe from WordPress.org

The easiest way to install ReviewScribe is directly from your WordPress dashboard.

### Step 1: Log in to WordPress

Log in to your WordPress website using an administrator account.

### Step 2: Open the Plugins page

From the WordPress dashboard, go to:

**Plugins → Add New Plugin**

### Step 3: Search for ReviewScribe

Use the search box in the top-right corner and search for:

**ReviewScribe**

Look for:

**ReviewScribe – WooCommerce Review Plugin, Product Reviews & Review Management**

### Step 4: Install ReviewScribe

Click **Install Now** next to ReviewScribe.

WordPress will download and install the latest version of the plugin automatically.

### Step 5: Activate the Plugin

After the installation is complete, click **Activate**.

ReviewScribe is now installed and activated on your website.

## 2.2 Install ReviewScribe Using a ZIP File

You can also install ReviewScribe manually using the plugin ZIP file.

This method is useful when you have downloaded ReviewScribe from another source or received a plugin ZIP package.

### Step 1: Download the ReviewScribe ZIP File

Download the latest ReviewScribe `.zip` file to your computer.

**Important:** Do not extract the ZIP file before uploading it through the WordPress dashboard.

### Step 2: Open the WordPress Plugin Installer

From your WordPress dashboard, go to:

**Plugins → Add New Plugin**

Click **Upload Plugin** at the top of the page.

### Step 3: Select the ZIP File

Click **Choose File** and select the ReviewScribe ZIP file from your computer.

### Step 4: Install the Plugin

Click **Install Now**.

WordPress will upload and install ReviewScribe.

### Step 5: Activate ReviewScribe

After the installation is complete, click **Activate Plugin**.

ReviewScribe is now ready to configure.

## 2.3 Activate ReviewScribe

If ReviewScribe has already been installed but is not active, you can activate it from the WordPress Plugins page.

### Step 1: Open Installed Plugins

Go to:

**WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Installed Plugins**

### Step 2: Find ReviewScribe

Locate **ReviewScribe** in the list of installed plugins.

### Step 3: Activate the Plugin

Click **Activate**.

Once activated successfully, ReviewScribe will be available in your WordPress dashboard.

> **Note:** ReviewScribe requires WooCommerce for WooCommerce-specific review functionality. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and activated on your website.

## 2.4 Access ReviewScribe Dashboard

After activating ReviewScribe, you can access its dashboard from the WordPress administration area.

### Step 1: Open the ReviewScribe Menu

From the WordPress dashboard, locate **ReviewScribe** in the admin menu.

Click **ReviewScribe** to open the plugin dashboard.

### Step 2: Explore the Dashboard

The ReviewScribe dashboard provides access to the plugin's main features and settings, including:

- Review management
- Review collection
- Review forms
- Email settings
- Review display options
- Import and export tools
- General settings

The available options may vary depending on your ReviewScribe version and license.

## 2.5 Verify Installation

After installing and activating ReviewScribe, verify that the plugin is working correctly before configuring your review system.

### Step 1: Check Plugin Status

Go to:

**Plugins → Installed Plugins**

Make sure ReviewScribe is listed as **Active**.

### Step 2: Open the ReviewScribe Dashboard

Go to:

**WordPress Dashboard → ReviewScribe**

Confirm that the ReviewScribe dashboard loads without errors.

### Step 3: Check WooCommerce

If you are using ReviewScribe with WooCommerce, go to:

**Plugins → Installed Plugins**

Make sure **WooCommerce** is also active.

### Step 4: Check the ReviewScribe Settings

Open the ReviewScribe settings and confirm that the available configuration options are displayed correctly.

### Installation Complete

ReviewScribe is now successfully installed and activated.

You can continue with the **Getting Started** section to configure ReviewScribe and start collecting and managing customer reviews.
