These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“ReviewScribe”, “we”, “us”). They cover the ReviewScribe WordPress plugin (“the Plugin”), paid licences, our website at reviewscribe.com and your account on it. By creating an account, buying a licence or installing the Plugin, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
The short version
- The Plugin’s code is open source under the GPL. A paid licence gives you premium features, updates and priority support for one year, on 1, 5 or unlimited sites.
- Every first purchase has a 14-day money-back guarantee.
- Reviews you collect stay in your own database and stay yours, even if you stop paying.
- Don’t use ReviewScribe to fake reviews, hide negative ones, or ask only happy customers for public reviews.
1. Who we are
ReviewScribe is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], a company registered in Bangladesh at 149/A West Monipur, Mirpur-2, Dhaka-1216. You can reach us at help@reviewscribe.com or on +60 11-1443 7370.
2. Definitions
- Plugin: the ReviewScribe WordPress plugin, in its free and paid versions.
- Free Version: the version published in the WordPress.org plugin directory.
- Paid Licence: a Pro, Plus or Agency licence bought from us.
- Site: one WordPress installation on one domain.
- Account: your account on reviewscribe.com.
- Reviewer: someone who leaves a review on your Site through the Plugin.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 and use ReviewScribe for your business or profession. If you sign up for a company, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these Terms for it.
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date. Keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens in your Account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- One person per Account. We may suspend Accounts used for spam, abuse or to get around these Terms.
- You can close your Account at any time by emailing help@reviewscribe.com. Closing your Account doesn’t cancel a Paid Licence, so cancel any renewal first (section 6).
4. The Plugin and your licence
4.1 The Free Version
The Free Version is free to use on any number of Sites. It’s licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPL), and nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the GPL.
4.2 What a Paid Licence gives you
For one year from purchase, a Paid Licence gives you the premium features, updates through your WordPress dashboard, and priority support, on this many Sites:

Every paid plan includes every premium feature. The plans only differ in the number of Sites.
4.3 Open-source code
The Plugin’s code is licensed under the GPL, and a Paid Licence doesn’t take away any of your GPL rights. What you pay for is the licence key, updates and support, which are for your use only. Images, icons, illustrations and branding that come with the Plugin aren’t covered by the GPL and remain ours (section 12).
4.4 Licence keys
Your licence key is for you or your organisation. Activate it on up to the number of Sites in your plan, and deactivate it on one Site to move it to another. Don’t share, publish or resell it. We may deactivate a key that has been shared, resold or used on more Sites than your plan allows.
5. Prices, payment and taxes
Paid Licences are sold through [MERCHANT OF RECORD], which acts as merchant of record. It processes your payment, issues your invoice and charges VAT, GST or sales tax where they apply, so its own terms also apply to your purchase. We never see your full card details.
Prices are in US dollars and shown on our pricing page. Taxes are added at checkout based on your location. Promotional prices, such as Early Bird discounts, are shown next to the regular price and apply to your first year only. Your licence renews at the regular price of your plan, which we show at checkout and in the reminder we send before each renewal.
6. Renewal and cancellation
A Paid Licence lasts one year from the date you buy it. It renews automatically each year unless you cancel, and we email you a reminder before each renewal. You can cancel at any time in [MERCHANT OF RECORD]’s customer portal or by emailing help@reviewscribe.com. Your licence then stays active until the end of the year you’ve paid for.
When a Paid Licence expires:
- The Plugin keeps working as the Free Version. Your reviews, forms and showcase widgets stay on your Site.
- Premium features stop, such as review request and follow-up emails, AI summaries and premium display options.
- You stop getting updates, including security and compatibility updates, and priority support.
- Renew at any time to switch everything back on.
7. Refunds
Every first purchase of a Paid Licence has a 14-day money-back guarantee. If ReviewScribe isn’t right for you, email help@reviewscribe.com within 14 days of buying, with your order number, and we’ll refund you in full. You don’t have to give a reason, though it helps us improve. [MERCHANT OF RECORD] refunds the original payment method, and the licence is deactivated.
- We also refund duplicate purchases and charges you didn’t authorise, at any time.
- The guarantee covers first purchases, not renewals. If a renewal catches you by surprise, contact us and we’ll look at it.
- This guarantee is in addition to any rights you have under consumer law where you live.
If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us before you open a chargeback. A chargeback suspends your licence while it’s investigated.
8. Updates and support
A Paid Licence includes one year of updates and priority support by email at help@reviewscribe.com. Free Version users can get help in the plugin’s support forum on WordPress.org.
Support covers installing and setting up the Plugin, bugs, and questions about documented features. It doesn’t cover:
- custom development, custom code or design changes
- problems caused by other plugins, themes or your hosting that we can’t fix in ReviewScribe
- setting up your email sending (SMTP), or emails that don’t arrive because of your mail setup
- versions of WordPress, WooCommerce or PHP older than the ones the Plugin lists as supported
9. Using ReviewScribe fairly
Reviews only help a store when people can trust them. When you use ReviewScribe, you agree not to:
- publish fake reviews, or reviews by people who haven’t actually used the product or service
- offer rewards for reviews without clearly saying so, or offer rewards only for positive reviews
- ask only satisfied customers for public reviews, or filter, hide or delay reviews because of their rating
- mark a review as a verified purchase unless the reviewer really bought the product
- import or display reviews you don’t have the right to use, or break the terms of the platforms they come from
- send review requests to people who haven’t bought from you or who have unsubscribed
- post anything illegal, abusive or harmful, or use the Plugin to spread malware or spam
- attack, overload or scrape our website, licence server or update service
Review gating isn’t allowed
ReviewScribe sends every customer to the same place after they leave a review, whatever their rating. Don’t change that with custom redirects, filters or display rules to send only happy customers to public review sites, or to hide negative reviews. Google’s review policies forbid it, and consumer laws treat it as misleading, including the US FTC’s rule on consumer reviews, the UK’s Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and EU consumer-protection law.
10. Your responsibilities as a site owner
10.1 Your customers’ data
Reviews and order details the Plugin handles are stored on your Site, and you’re the data controller for them. You’re responsible for having a lawful basis to collect them, telling Reviewers how you use their data, answering their requests, and keeping your Site secure. Section 5 of our Privacy Policy lists what to include in your own privacy policy.
10.2 Email
Review request emails are sent through your own email setup. You’re responsible for configuring it, including SMTP and your domain’s SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, and for following anti-spam laws such as the GDPR and ePrivacy rules, CAN-SPAM and CASL. Keep the unsubscribe link switched on.
10.3 Services you connect
If you connect other services, such as OpenAI for AI summaries (with your own API key and billing), Google reCAPTCHA or an SMTP provider, their terms, limits and costs apply. We don’t control them.
10.4 Backups and updates
Keep regular backups of your Site, and test updates on a staging site before updating a live store.
11. Feature requests, comments and other posts
- You keep ownership of what you post on our feature board and blog. You give us a worldwide, free licence to host, show, format and moderate it there.
- We may use the ideas and feedback you share to improve ReviewScribe without paying you or owing you anything. Posting or voting for a request doesn’t mean we’ll build it, and statuses like “Planned” aren’t promises or delivery dates.
- We review feature requests before publishing them. We may edit, merge or remove posts, for example duplicates, spam or anything that breaks these Terms.
- Don’t post personal or confidential information, yours or anyone else’s.
12. Our name and brand
The ReviewScribe name, logo and brand assets belong to us. The GPL covers the Plugin’s code, not our trademarks. You may use the logos from our Media Kit to refer to ReviewScribe, following the usage guidelines on that page. Don’t change them, use them for a modified version of the Plugin, or suggest we endorse you without our written permission.
13. Other services
ReviewScribe works with WordPress, WooCommerce and other services we don’t control. Their availability, rules and limits can change at any time. Where the Plugin offers connections to external review platforms, the reviews it can import depend on what each platform makes available.
14. Disclaimers
We work hard to make ReviewScribe reliable, but the Plugin and our services are provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we don’t give warranties of any kind, including that the Plugin will be error-free, work with every theme, plugin or host, or that emails will reach every inbox.
We don’t promise any particular sales, number of reviews or search ranking. Search engines decide whether to show star ratings in their results, so adding review markup doesn’t guarantee them.
15. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about the Plugin or these Terms is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
16. Indemnity
If you use ReviewScribe for your business, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from claims caused by your breach of these Terms, your breach of section 9, how you handle your Reviewers’ data, or your breach of the law or another platform’s rules.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your Account or licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, break section 9, share or resell your licence key, or open a chargeback for a payment you made. Where possible, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
You can stop using ReviewScribe at any time. Sections 11 to 16 and 18 still apply after your Account or licence ends.
18. Changes
We may update the Plugin, change or remove features, and update these Terms. If we make an important change to these Terms, we’ll tell account holders by email or on our website before it takes effect. If you keep using ReviewScribe after that, the new Terms apply.
If we ever stop offering ReviewScribe, we’ll give you reasonable notice. Your reviews stay in your own database, and you can export them to a CSV file at any time.
19. Governing law and disputes
If you have a problem, please contact us first at help@reviewscribe.com. Most issues are quicker to solve that way. These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of [CITY], Bangladesh, deal with any dispute.
If you’re a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with mandatory consumer laws, you keep the protection of those laws and can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
